A strategic alliance in Life Sciences industry consulting services
Florence, 14 December 2022 – Quality consulting multinational PQE Group, and engineering company Techniconsult Group, both leaders in the Life Sciences industry, have signed a cross holding agreement to reinforce their presence on the domestic and international market by combining two unique organisations with undisputed leadership.
Both family-run italian businesses of excellence, both based in Tuscany, the two companies share many common features, first and foremost the aim of placing all their professional expertise at the service of the pharmaceutical industry for successful integrated engineering projects, to become a hub attracting our country’s talents and enterprises. And more. Another common denominator of the two companies is their impressive ethical vision, with social responsibility projects and care for their employees, which together number two thousand people worldwide, one thousand in Italy alone.
Techniconsult Group, founded in Florence in 1987, is about to become a benefit corporation. With turnover of 27 million (+36% compared to 2021) it was responsible for the GlaxoSmithKline project which won the 2020 ISPE FOYA – Facility of the Year Award – Social Impact Category (a programme which rewards leading-edge projects using innovative technologies to improve product quality), and it has supported its customers in the design, management and construction of pharmaceutical plants for more than thirty years, developing and applying targeted, effective engineering solutions through a flexible approach. What’s more, Techniconsult Group completes its portfolio with qualification, maintenance and general contractingservices, making it a unique reference point for the industry. This model dovetails perfectly with the quality and compliance know-how offered by PQE Group, a pharmaceutical consulting giant with forecast turnover of more than 90 million in 2022 (+68% compared to 2021), with an international scope that has been delivering Made In Italy excellence worldwide since 1998. The financial operation planned by the two companies comprises a share swap which will reinforce the integration of their organisations to boost joint growth. This operation forms part of the plan of action of the PQE Federation: a concept developed in-house by founder Gilda D’Incerti, that sets out to create a global network of joint ventures with vertical specialisations within the pharmaceutical industry, able to provide a more and more complementary commercial offering. The owners of Techniconsult Group, Rosario Lo Presti and Pier Angelo Galligani, have adopted the same approach, signing a large number of agreements in Italy and abroad in recent years to position the engineering company among the pharmaceutical industry’s leading vendors.
“In the coming years many pharmaceutical companies have decided to invest in renewing their production sites, considerably intensifying the construction of new plants. – declared Riccardo Salvagnini, Global Strategic Growth Director of PQE Group – Therefore, to better respond to our customers’ demands, we’ve recognised the importance of reinforcing our engineering sector through a partnership with a company from our own area, similar in spirit to ours and able to represent Italian excellence worldwide”
“In today’s increasingly interconnected economic context, we need to open out to new markets and grasp the opportunities the export market offers us. This agreement with a Tuscany-based multinational with shared values and objectives enables us to reinforce our internationalisation process and consolidate our presence beyond Italy’s boundaries” declared Rosario Lo Presti, founding partner of Techniconsult Group.
